Who Are We?
FBLA and DECA
Members of Portola Business compete in competitions run by two organizations: FBLA and DECA. These are the two biggest business-oriented organizations in the nation.
By competing in events revolving around business management, finances, accounting, marketing, entrepreneurship and many more, members gain valuable real-world skills that translate to many facets of life--both inside and outside the classroom.
Throughout each year, Portola Business members are exposed to a multitude of opportunities to explore business and leadership outside of competitions.
Through leadership conferences, company tours, and guest speakers, Portola Business members gain a nuanced understanding of entrepreneurship and develop a unique skillset, giving each member an edge when called on to use these skills in the real world. Also, these events are perfect for finding like minded people, and forging relationships that last for years to come.
More Than a Club
At Portola Business, we are more than just a club or a student organization. We are a diverse family of ambitious and hard-working individuals, one that is always there to support each other. By providing a space to learn, grow, and develop meaningful relationships, Portola Business provides value that far exceeds that of a traditional club.
Through this commitment to supporting each other, Portola Business makes a broad range of resources available to every member to ensure their success in competitions. From examples of roleplays and writtens to practice tests, we make sure every member has the requisite materials needed to be prepared for whichever event(s) they choose. Likewise, officers are always available to help and we host weekly study sessions to provide individualized assistance to anyone who may need it.
Portola Business meetings are every Thursday in Mrs. Smith's room: 1056!
